Fooled by Ensure
There are lots of protein drinks, juices, smoothies and shakes out there with great sounding labels touting healty boosting ingredients. Sadly, our standards for labeling allow for ample opportunity to fool us all...unless we read the labels ourselves. Most all commercial options in this arena are full of sugars, or sugar alternatives in addition to plenty of chemicals that most of us can't pronounce. Frankly, they're not too far off from a sugary cereal or packaged cookie, just with some added protein or other nutrient to validate any claims. So not only do they not nourish, they can do harm...no bueno!
Don't be fooled!! For the sake of you and your loved one's health, please read the labels and know what you are ingesting. And if you are offering Ensure to a friend or loved one to supposedly help nourish them, please check out this article! Not only does it explain a bit of what is in this popular drink that we are offering our aging and ill, but it also offers a great source of healing foods.
Disgusted with Ensure
While the author does offer her own formula, one can easily create their own using whole foods from the list provided in the article as well.
