Prophecy...Call In Health.
The idea of speaking something into existence seems rather "out there" for many. For the realists, it's far fetched. For the universal minded spirituals, it's very much a reality. For the Christian, and many variations of Biblical faith, it's taboo. But I've always believed that speaking aloud in a way that honors our Heavenly Father can be incredibly real and beneficial. Going a step beyond prayer (a request), this act of faith both challenges and inspires. While many will speak to this from a perspective of quantum physics, it is the realm of the Holy Spirit that holds the power. A reminder, however, that just as our calling to existence can be for positive, we know from experience that it can also be used in the negative context.
My friend and colleague, Dick Fleming, reminded me of God's instruction and promise regarding this action of faith. He wrote the following this past week:
“...Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live...”
(Ezekiel 37:4–5, ESV)
The prophet Ezekiel saw a vision of a valley filled with bones. It was like a huge graveyard of bones from people who had died. Bones represent things in our life that look dead, situations that seem impossible and permanently unchanging. God said, “Prophesy to these dead bones.” Ezekiel started speaking to the bones, telling them to come alive. As he was speaking, the bones started rattling and coming together, morphing back into people. Finally, breath came into those bodies, and they stood up like “a vast army.”
You may have things in your life that seem dead—a relationship, a business, your health. All you can see is a valley of dry bones, so to speak. It’s not enough to just pray about it; you need to speak to it. Prophesy to those dead bones. Call in health. Call in abundance. Call in restoration. God will resurrect what looks dead. He’ll make things happen that you could never make happen.
Our words have power. Our faith has power. Yet the power resides in the Holy Spirit.
What prophetic words are you speaking today?
